Concept Design | Planning

This was single storey warehouse that was derelict and underused.

Having failed to secure planning consent previously, the owners approached us with a brief to maximise the site’s potential for use as a library for the local community.

Our proposal maximised the buildable envelope by extending both upwards and downwards within the constraints of the surrounding residential windows and protected trees.

Planning was secured through a carefully considered proposal that draws inspiration from the surrounding materials rhythm and pattern to create a visually pleasing and valuable asset for the neighbourhood.
